Music Review: Beyonce’

Since this is my first music review to my new site, I will start off by letting you know who I am. I am an author of two novels and I own my own publishing company. My novel Doing His Time was a smash hit. I received rave reviews and everyone waited for the follow up Money Over Men. I will agree the pressure of following up a smash hit is nerve wrecking. You always doubt yourself because you’re scared of the reaction you’ll receive. Now with this being said I myself received mixed reviews on my follow up. What I’ve come to learn is, your fans have an idea of what they want from you and you have a idea of what you want to do. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t.

With this being said I will review this Cd on my opinion only…..

I AM SASHA FIERCE

Firstly as I said us fans have our mind set on what we want, as I purchase the 9.97 version (it’s a recession going on) it only had 11 songs. Now in my mind a double Cd will at least come with 10 songs on each disk.

I popped in Sasha and out of the five tracks I heard I only like Diva, Put A Ring On it and Video Phone. As I reviewed I Am Beyonce out of 6 songs, I only like, If I where a boy and Halo. Now with this being said I’m on my way back to Walmart to spring for the deluxe version to see if the extra 5 dollars is worth it.  

Now I love Beyonce and I’m not one of her haters please let make this clear I think she is the baddest chick in the game. However there was not one love song like Speechless off the Dangerously In Love album why? I understand growth and change, I’m a writer myself and as the years roll the more you grow. However you still need to find a common ground and listen to your fans some. Your fans can make you are break you.  I don’t understand why we can’t get any songs that we begged for?

Artist now of days not just Beyonce need to take a look back at what made them famous and understand the real reason why Cd’s are not selling. It’s not because of the Internet it’s because of the garbage that’s put out. If you put yourself in a working person shoe’s that only has twenty dollars to there name springing on a Cd is a luxury. We tell ourselves we’ll eat noodles at lunch for the rest of the week so we can get your Cd. We expect a quality product especially when you take your last dollar and buy it. Than we crack it open, pop it in to skip over countless number of songs and get pissed off about the ten dollar’s we just wasted on something you can’t even take it back. I bet if Cd’s could be return the sells would be even lower.

I don’t know what’s going on in the business but it only takes one bad Cd before I put you on the bootleg list. Than you’ll have to prove to me that you stepped your game up. I don’t have money to waste on Cd’s you already get less songs now. Than to top it off out of 11 songs only five are good everyone in the music game and in my industry as well needs to step back and take a good look at what made them. Artist’s need to bring some of that greatness back in the game they had when it was there first shot to blow. You don’t have to make the same music but get back hungry like your advance check is gone and this is your last chance to blow.  Study some of the great music that was made by Toni Toni Tone, Mint Condition etc. Let’s bring some of the old music back when music had meaning and purpose.

Again I’m not a hater but as my third novel is about to drop I had to listen to my fans and give them what they wanted after all I do this for them.

Now as I close I’m off to exchange my CD so I will give you an update. But right now I give Beyonce *** stars.
