When A Man Loves A Woman

I once read in the good book (the Bible) “When a man finds a woman he finds a good thing.” As I watched BET Obama’s special last night, I saw a bunch of men (rappers) saying they loved Michelle and Barack’s marriage.

I actually love their relationship as well. I heard Obama saying that he courted Michelle and she shot him down a few times before giving him a date. In an interview Michelle said that in the twenty years she’s known him he has NEVER disappointed her.

I scratched my head seeing rappers such as Rick Ross, Plies, Jim Jones and others say that they love there union. I can’t help but to think do men really want a good woman like Michelle or a bust-it-baby like Superhead.  Countless number of times men really play over good women like Michelle for whatever reasons.

What is it for a man to love a woman?

I think most men don’t know what it means to love a woman and I think Barack found what it really means to love his wife.  The bible tells a man “love your wife as I loved the world” That statement in my eyes means sacrifice!! God loved the world so much he sacrificed his only begotten son.  Men in this generation don’t want to sacrifice or step up. They rather be risk takers and deal with consequences for there actions later. In my opinion this has become the new thing for men and women.

I applaud Barack for standing up and sacrificing for his wife and his family. Hopefully our new first family will rub off on us and we can start back seeing a lot more marriages. Hopefully men will start sacrificing there life for women like Michelle. Stop wanting to sleep around and start seeing that there’s more to life than getting a quick lay. That life is about building like Michelle and Barack built a strong campaign together and won. It’s about winning a race you started when you said I do. It’s not about risking everything you built by banging Keisha on the low because you can. I hope men and women can see now that it’s the sacrifices that you make and the dedication you put into your relationship that makes it whole.  When two people are for each other for the long hall there nothing they can’t do together including being the first black couple to make it to the white house!!!
