I hear you. My daughter is my future and in my daughters eyes I want her to see a beautiful, strong, independent, loving woman not the clubbing, coming home too late drunk and having more than my share of one night stands. its really time to wake up ladies and men – our kids rather its a boy or girl are the future how are we going to teach them if we are too slow in learning that what we do as fun can come back and burn us when its time to be real grown ups. I promised myself from the day she was born to the day I die I will be the lady my granny raise me to be and the mother I always dream i will be. Stand up Moms and Dads it time to rise and shine and groom our kids for the real future not the strip clubs.
@ Mechie I promise I’m glad I’m not alone I was starting to think the whole world has gone mad. It’s like what about the kids. It’s crazy to me, everybody wants to do them–but while there doing them they have there niece, cousin, daughter, sons looking up to them and no example is being set. everything is lost..smh

u were probably doing the same thing when u were younger. i luv how adults “women” do shiz when theyre our age and turn around and be hypocrites and say “dont do this”. yeah right.
@leah1 I was never a Lose woman and Ive never done anything of the such. If I do anything I will admit to it, and they say the truth hurts anyday.

If anything if a woman did do these things when they were younger im sure as they got older they damn sure regret doing a lot of it. So why not try and teach young girls the right from wrong so when they do grow up to make decision using more knowledge than they had when they were 15, 16 they can make decisions that they want regret later. Me personally Im only 22 but however i do regret SOME of the things i did when i was a teen. Knowing what i know now, i would have done some things differently. My mother use to say “you will never understand until you get older”. I use to be like whatever…until i got older and was like damn my moms was right. Thats why now i try and make sure my niece has gudiance because she has no one to teach her everything that glitters aint gold. Point is we can STOP young girls from making decisons they will later regret in life.

Exactly, you admit to doing whatever it was you were doing when you were younger, yet now youre saying dont do it. and in my book, thats called a Hypocrite with a capital H.
I must admit but I see what leah1 is coming from. There are alot of older women who WERE loose and been around the block and then now want ppl to perceive them as holier than thou. We need more women who has NOT been around the block and CAN speak about what they did to NOT go that route. You don’t always have to put your hand in the fire to KNOW it’s fire.
Leah I totally get what ur saying BUT how is that being a hypocrite???? A hypocrite is saying one thing and doing another. Helping someone make better decision in life because you’ve been there and done that is called spitting wisdom. Now If I were a stripper saying don’t strip or a hoe saying don’t have multiple partners then I would be a hypocrite. My point is why not try and stir young girls into the right direction so that they DON’T make the same mistakes as some. I don’t talk down on people but I will tell it like I see it. I understand this is your blog and considered informal, but just as your topic says “perception is everything”, please take your time and pay attention to your grammar and lyrical content. I am in total agreement with your philosophy. I fully support the points you are putting forth. However, I stopped reading because of the errors. Please take this note in the spirit in which it is being given – constructive criticism.
I totally understand writing in a shorten form (u, ur, etc), but it is important to apply the philosophy/concept in ALL areas of your life. For example, a teenager who constantly texts using the shortened format will tend to use that same format while writing a formal paper in school. I work in a university setting and I see it daily.

What is the big flucking deal about writing format? If you can understand it then it’s alright. This is NOT a formal report or a college dissertation. It’s meant to be relaxed and comfortable but also understandable. Hell even the English don’t speak or write a certain way all the time. And it’s called education! If you have it you are able to write and communicate in different ways. The meaning isn’t loss due to bad grammar and if it is that mean you wasn’t really paying attention. STOP DRINKING THE KOOL-AID!!!!!!!
Nichelle, just asking your opionion, what do you think about the book Buffy The Body wrote? do you think she signed with the right publishing company? I dont really see her book around much.

I aint talking about TCP but I think she coulda gotten a better deal somewhere else. I have heard about their business dealings.
