A Dose Of Reality: Were Are All The Real Women? Why Have We Failed Our Ancestors?

As I wrote about these two strong powerful women today, it made me think how their walk on this earth was all in vein. We women are so blind, we just don’t get their pain, their struggle, and how they fought hard to protect their name. It’s a mans world but women make it go around, but now were playing ourselves and let the men take all the power. We now make everything all right that they fought hard to make wrong. These women marched countless hours so we can have freedom of our own.  Look at what we’ve done, turn around and got locked back into bondage. Thinking we doing us, but truth is, were just blindsided. We should be ashamed of ourselves but instead we walk proud. Thinking we showing them but were the ones missing out. Screaming our ho quotes out loud, popping our fingers and praising bullshyt thinking that’s making our four founders proud.

Girl look at you now, we done made ourselves into baby mommas, yeah lets be proud. Giving men the milk so why should they buy the cow? I ain’t excluded myself because I to closed my ears to the truth. But waking up and seeing the light is more than beautiful. We’ve failed our youth, and ourselves but yet we don’t want to wake up and face the music. It’s bigger than you, she and me. It’s about our cousins; daughters, sisters and niece, setting examples for them should be our key. So when they look at the TV they’ve rather be like you or their auntie. Because they know half of what they see isn’t really reality.

But were so busy doing me, running like roaches to shake our ass on BET, screaming about how you don’t care what the next person thinks. Girl that sounds like some bullshyt excuses and it’s sad to me. We would say such things not realizing were misguiding our niece, daughter or little cousins. Girl gone do you, but hopefully you’ll see that everything runs full circle back to you. Still can’t believe were walking around making our ancestors look like a fool.

Rosa Parks gave up her seat, and spoke her mind, just so us women could have a voice and a peace of mind. Coretta Scott King marched to the end, so we women can have freedom and be treated equally as men. Our ancestors bodies we taken against there will, they fought hard for us to have a right to choose who and when. They wanted to see a day when we could make men respect our bodies and treat us the same as the other women. (But were to blind to see were still not treated like the other women)

Instead of embracing what they stood for, we rather stand against it. Thinking were grown and can do as we please, but we’ve forgot about what the true definition of being a lady truly means. It’s not what you do but how you do it, showing our youth that it’s okay to be loose has failed us. Lets wake up and see the bigger picture, it’s bigger than you it’s bigger than me. It’s about our future and setting an example to the girls of what a woman should be. Like our mothers, grandmothers and leaders showed us. Holding ourselves with class, dignity and morals. Walking with respect, knowledge and growth. Knowing that were worth it, our daughters are worth it and instilling that begins with us.

Yes some of you might not have any kids; some of you might not have any sisters or nieces. However you still have some type of youth looking up to you, it doesn’t matter that you’re not famous. Growing up I wanted to be just like my cousins, they had great careers and mad goals. They taught us how to be a lady and to walk with respect. Now they could have been the biggest bust downs around however, they never let any of us see that. If they were, they kept there business on the low and nobody knew what was going on behind there closed doors and that is the essences of being a woman, a real woman. It’s not what you do but how you do it lets wake up ladies and start saving our youth. Lets stop letting everything that our ancestors died for go in vein. Lets make, all the Phenomenal women that showed us the way, proud and lets create more to write about.

    Peace
