Can T. I. make a come back? Does he really still have what it takes to be called a King again? I mean personally I love TIP; I don’t think it’s one album of his I didn’t like. I was on him back in the rubber band man days, I think he still has what it take! There’s something about about jail that does a rapper good #justsaying the only thing I will say will his peers ever respect that he ate the cheese? Southern rapper T.I. recently revealed the effect that prison had on his creative process and what fans can expect to hear on his forthcoming album.
When a rapper is sent to prison fans typically think that the artist will use the time to write down lyrics for a post incarceration album that will both silence all critics and give people something to marvel over. During a recent interview though, the self-proclaimed King Of The South said that he wasn’t feeling creative behind bars and didn’t actually do much writing.
“I didn’t write too much,” T.I. said. “People might have thought I was doing a lot of writing, but I didn’t write that much. I didn’t get a lot of time to. It was actually a lot of activity around me, so I really wasn’t motivated to create.”
Despite not writing though, Tip says that this album will be more aggressive than his previous works.
“This album is different in many ways. I think that Paper Trailwas a lot more about thoughts,” he said. “[But] this [forthcoming album] is more about feelings. This is significantly more aggressive, or at least at this period in production. Who knows? I can do 10 love songs tomorrow and change the direction. At this point, right now, it’s going hard. It’s going hard like classic T.I.”
T.I.’s upcoming album is expected to drop sometime later this year.
