Arizona Judge Denies DMX “Celebrity Rehab” Request

The Maricopa County, Arizona judge presiding over DMX’sprobation violation case has denied the rapper’s request to leave jail and appear on Dr. Drew Pinsky’s televisedCelebrity Rehab show. According to reports, the request was denied because of how well DMXwas responding to the rehab program inside of the jail.

X is currently serving a six month sentence for admitting to cocaine use on five separate occasions, which is in direct violation of the terms of his probation. When initially in court behind the infraction, the judge seemed open to the idea of Xattending Dr. Pinksy’s facility in lieu of jail, but with this turn of events, he will have to remain in the court-appointed treatment until it ends in July. He is free to go to Dr. Pinksy’s program afterwards, but by then he will unfortunately be too late for the TV show, as filming will have already begun.

In related news, X recently filed a million dollar lawsuit against Rich Kid Entertainment for taking more than their allotted 10% from a contract he had signed with them.

According to the lawsuit, the company kept 100% of the funds stemming from the handling of his copyrights overseas and also without prior approval entered into agreements with labels in his behalf. He blamed his personal troubles with keeping him blind to the fraud, which started in 2000, and is seeking his unpaid royalties.
