Jay-Z & Betty White To Star In SNL

Saturday Night Live viewers will be in for a special treat this week, as Brooklyn rapper Jay-Z and 88-year-old actress Betty White are allegedly coming together on a sketch for the show. Executive producer Lorne Michaels tells Entertainment Weekly , “We thought, ‘This is an interesting mix.’ Jay-Z was excited about the idea of working with Betty White — further proof that her influence is pervasive and enormous.”

White expresses that she is a fan of Jay-Z and looks forward to the collaboration. “I’m thrilled to meet him. I was thrilled to hear that he’s going to be on the show because he’s the hottest thing since sliced bread. I will certainly enjoy him. I hope that we get along well.”

Betty White came around to hosting SNL after a Facebook group was started this January called “Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!,” reaching over 500,000 fans.

In addition to SNL, Betty has been doing a slew of camera work including the super bowl Snickers commercial and a TV Land sitcom called Hot In Cleveland airing this June.

The special Mother’s Day episode of Saturday Night Live airs this Saturday (May 8).
