I knew this was coming, being a impostor only last for so long before the truth catches up with you. Miami-based rapper Rick Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, may be heading to court later this year to face off against the former drug dealer, whose name he uses.
The real Ricky Ross is widely known for running a drug empire during the 80’s and at one point it was rumored that he was moving several million dollars worth of cocaine each day. In 1996, he was convicted and sentenced to life for attempting to purchase over 100 kilograms of cocaine. He was released in 2006 and allegedly tried to get the rights back to his name via several cease-and-desist letters, but he claims that Def Jam ignored the legal documents.
Recent reports suggest however the real Ross is going to continue the fight for his name and that he is taking steps to sue Roberts for stealing his identity and banking off of his image, and he will also name Def Jam and Universal Records in the suit for their complicity in the act.
In related news, Roberts will release his fourth solo studio album, Teflon Don, this summer on July 6. The first single from the LP, Super High, featuring R&B singer Ne-Yo was recently let loose on the airwaves, and the project will reportedly feature collaborations with Kanye West and Jay-Z amongst others.

Oh, chit!!!
Hes crazy if he thinks he’s getting half of all the money Rick earned, he might as well save the money he’s paying the lawyer.
