DMX To Be Released Early

Incarcerated rapper DMX will reportedly be released from jail early. X, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was sentenced to six months in jail in Arizona for violating the terms of his probation that stemmed from a previous case. The Yonkers, New York lyricist was attending rehab courses while inside of the jail to help with his substance addiction and according to the judge he was making good progress. So good in fact, that the judge denied X’s request to attend treatment at Celebrity Rehab, Dr. Drew’s facility for treatment though he had previously seemed open to the idea. His manager Nakia Walker spoke about X being locked up during a past interview and thanked fans who continued the embattled rapper throughout his trials.

“Of course it is unfortunate and painful to see Earl incarcerated, as there are a lot of rumors and lies surfacing regarding the details of his personal and professional state. However, thank God for a great team — family, friends, pastors and doctors,” said Walker.

“Collectively, I am excited to say that X’s team is putting forth every effort to ensure the success of Earl’s health and career. We appreciate the support of his fans. Please, stay prayerful, as X will return.”
