Mary J. Blige Goes Back To School & Launches “My Life” Perfume

Mary J. Blige will go back to school. The Queen of R&B gave the announcement during a concert at Central Park for ABC’sGood Morning America (see video below). Mary expressed her happiness about this decision because she “never had a chance to finish school.” The singer dropped out of school when she was attending the 11th grade. Blige has officially earned her high school diploma and has been accepted to Howard University where she will peruse her Bachelor’s Degree with the class of 2014.

The songtress sure does not lack ambition and determination. During her 20-year career, both as a singer and as an actress,Blige has won 9 Grammy Awards and her records have gone platinum 8 times. She is currently learning French for her role in a movie about Jazz singer Nina Simone, who has become source of inspiration for the R&B star, saying: “She’s one of my biggest inspirations. She was a phenomenal woman.”

Mary J has also just launched her perfume, My Life, after the title of one of her most famous hits. This fall, she is expected to launch her new eyewear line, Melodies.

Mary also has now added a fragrance to her resume she collaborated with Carol’s daughter for the fragrance that is named after her second album “My Life”. Get it Mary..
