Faith Evans Arrested In Los Angeles

Faith Evans was arrested in Los Angeles over the weekend over suspicion of drunk driving, say several reports. According to the Los Angeles Times, the singer was stopped at a checkpoint at Washington and Lincoln boulevards, just north of Marina Del Rey, on Saturday night (August 21) and then taken into custody after a police officer allegedly smelled alcohol. Her car was impounded and she was released on bail Sunday morning.
“It was during a regular checkpoint, nothing other than that. No collision,” confirmed Sgt. Ron Pickering of LAPD Pacific Division to the New York Daily News.
This isn’t the first time that Evans has gotten into trouble with the law behind drugs. In 2004, she and her husband Todd Russaw were arrested following a traffic stop in Atlanta. Both were charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine.Evans was able to avoid jail time by attending a 13-week drug rehabilitation program.
In other news, Evans is reportedly making a return to the music business after a five year hiatus. She is scheduled to release her album, All About Faith, in October though it’s currently unclear if she will put it out independently or if she has been picked up by a record label and she will also star in a reality series titled, “It’s All About Faith.”
