BET executive Stephen Hill took to Twitter and criticized Waka Flocka Flame’s performance at the BET Awards, which was being filmed in Atlanta over the weekend. Apparently less than pleased with the southern rapper’s antics, Hill tweeted, “BET Hip-Hop Awards. The show was going so well…and then Waka Flak-ed. Yeah. I said it.”
Adding, “Waka. Flacka. Flamed. Out,” before saying, “Like it or not, he’s popular. Wanted to give a shot #mistake,” when asked by Rap Radar on the micro-blogging site why the Brick Squad rapper was even selected to perform.
Waka responded to Hill’s remarks by saying that “inside of this lame game y’all call rap they want [you] to don’t [be yourself].”
Explaining his decision to crowd surf, he added, “How the f*ck [you] invite Waka Flocka and hate when I jump [in] the crowd to connect more wit fans and friends…I’ma always keep it 1,000,000…I kick ass I don’t kiss ass…Flocka.”
His DJ, Love Dinero, also came to his defense and said that Waka wasn’t at fault for the less than spectacular performance. “@StephenGHill It wasn’t [Waka Flocka’s] fault I, DJ lovedinero [played] the wrong track ur staff @ BET said we was going 2 do it again don’t blame him he jus went with the music.”
The BET Hip-Hop Awards will air on October 12th. Aside fromWaka, fans will also see performances from Rick Ross,Gucci Mane, and others. Dipset also reunites on stage.
