Well congrats is in order to Lala and her Boo Carmelo, Lala and her mother Carmen were spotted in New York yesterday afternoon meeting with celebrity wedding planner Mendy Weiss to go over wedding details.  As you may recall, La La and Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony became engaged on Christmas Day 04, but she explains why she wasn’t in a rush to run down the aisle:

I always get asked the question about marriage and being engaged for so long. My answer to that is it has worked this way for us. My heart is hurting this morning, my daughter who will turn five December 10th is my princess. My son stayed with his father for the weekend and me and my daughter hung out. My daughter and I have this bond with each other, I talk to her about whatever she wants me to, no matter if it’s Dora are me letting her know her spot that only her and I should touch, we talk. I couldn’t imagine ever hurting her ever, even when I tell her no and try to mean it she bats her pretty eyes at me and I melt. She came to me with her letter to Santa and told me she wanted a real cat (which she will get when she gets her own place) but it’s the bond that makes you feel close to your daughter. My bond with my son is much different he was my baby, I use to do everything for him until recently he turned ten and he told me “mom I’m a big boy now, I can make my own bed and walk across the streets without you holding my hand.” I knew the day was gonna come when he would want to break away and have his own independence, he’s becoming such a big boy. I have to stay on him about taking a bath and brushing his teeth before bed other than that he pretty much maintains himself.  It was time for me to step off so he can become a man and grow I know he has a long way to go but it made me proud that he wanted to be a big boy.

I had my son young I was only eighteen fresh out of high school, my momma told me “Nicey your life is not your own any longer; your a mother now you have to live for your son. There will be days where you can’t do what you want, there will be days where you wished you waited but you’ve made your bed and you are gonna lie in it.” As a mother there is never any excuse to mistreat your kids are harm them, hell I was a teen parent and I made it just fine. Yeah it was a lot of things I couldn’t do but that comes along with pushing out a baby. If you don’t want the responsibility of being a mother keep your legs closed or get on some type of birth control.  There should never be a reason for cases like this, it discusses me and I wish I could beat this ladies ass. This innocent baby has lost her life because you couldn’t be a woman and face your responsibilities! I think she needs to be put in a room full of rapist and let them have there way with her than put to death herself. I have no remorse for a women or a man who does things like this to innocent children.

Shaniya’s mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, 25, was taken into custody on Friday (Nov. 12) and charged with human trafficking, child abuse involving prostitution and filing a false police report.

The child’s remains were located in an area bordered by Highway 87 south and Walker Road – just south of Sanford – during a second day of searching.

Davis was last seen alive at a Comfort Suites hotel in Sanford last week – the same morning her mother reported her missing from her Fayetteville home. Police say a surveillance video from the hotel showed the child with 29-year-old Mario McNeill.

The area where police found the body is about 7 miles from the hotel.

I was talking to my ex and he said “women always think there getting better when they leave, but once they get out there they always come running back.” I told him I wasn’t coming back because it wasn’t anything to come back to. He than advised me “it always sounds good until you get played over,” I followed up my comment to him with a “whatever.” He than referenced his best friend baby mother who can’t find a good man to save her life, laughing telling me I will be just like her.  I kindly told him that, I’m not a block bish and nobody has control over my future but God and me. The truth is, I’m going places in life, and I have goals, morals, values and standards. I’m not the chick who can’t see life beyond the street corner. It’s a whole world out there; I won’t limit myself for anybody. I also advised him if I do get played over I will keep on moving but looking back will never be a option.

The conversation with him made me realizes how people will try to play with your self-esteem and make you feel worthless. Between his laughter about me having two kids and how he knows I will easily get played; I came to the conclusion he feels I will be back begging. Sometimes men want to see you doing bad so they can feel better about themselves. They want to see you out there getting ran through and over so they can have a laugh. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard them talk about his friend’s ex and how he knew she wasn’t gonna be shyt. Somehow my ex has it in his mind I will travel the same path, but the devil is a lie.  As long as I have God by my side and faith within myself what others speak of me wont stop my show. I’m a strong believer in speaking on what I want and praying for what I need. I know it’s not easy out there, I’d never planned on being single but it’s my reality now.  I just wanted to share this post because I know it’s some women who have these type of people in there life, don’t let anyone tell you what your future holds. You are the master of your own destiny, keep God close, do some self reflecting on your bad choices and figure out how you can stop making them. Some people just live to see you doing bad and being miserable. Lord knows I have my days where I’m down and feel bad about my time lost but after that talk I’m done with that as well. I won’t let anybody feel like I can’t do better without them.  I am a survivor, I will prevail, I will do bigger and better things, I will be great, and I will speak everything I want into existent.  The bible says whosoever has faith as small as a mustard seed he can move a mountain. My faith within myself is all I need to know that I will be great. Please believe in yourself and know your worthy to have great things in your life.

I love this song, it’s real what one person feels is wrong the next person might feel it’s all so right; believe in yourself.

I heard when a man loves a woman he loves her deeply; I started to loose hope in believing in such a line. I mean look at the world, look at how people break up when hard times hit. Look at how the world is, I still don’t really believe in love persay, however I got a grain of hope hearing this amazing story about this wonderful black man. Sometimes when the going gets ruff some of us jump ship, some of us don’t want to weather the storm and wait for the sun to come out and shine. Life gets hard, love gets hard, faith gets lost how do you weather the storm when it seem like you are going through hurricane Katrina? Well Detroit Pistons baller Jason Maxiell (26) married his longtime fiancé Brandi Duncan back in August. Brandi battled ovarian cancer two years ago and won with Jason by her side.  He shaved his own head bald when she had to be bald herself because of the chemo. The two met in high school and Jason stuck by her side through out all the hard times and good times. Her Cancer is in remission and Jason gave her the big beautiful wedding that she deserves. I am so glad that I can write such an amazing story especially when he is in such a jaded industry. I love black love it is so amazing, so beautiful and still alive. I wish these two many happy years and blessings.

So when they say “when a man loves a woman he loves her deeply” in a sense I feel like it’s true. Reading this story about a young brother sticking by his woman side, seeing the tears in his eyes as his lovely wife came down the aisle made me feel that it is the truth. I guess I haven’t felt what it is to be loved by a man and maybe never will but I’m sure glad someone has.

I do think its okay to be selfish on some nights; I believe that some nights it should be all about me! Some nights I think I should get it just how I want it with no back talk from him.
