Lil Wayne penned one last letter to fans to thank them for their continued support and prayers during his stay at New York’s Rikers Island for gun possession on Tuesday (November 2). He is expected to be released on Thursday (November 4), having served 80% of his sentence, and wanted to make sure that they knew they played an integral role in his surviving the last eight months.

“As I greet you all in my last days on this island, I must reflect,” he started. “I think back to when I first arrived and I had no clue what I’d be experiencing. I was never scared, worried, nor bothered by the situation. For that, I thank God, my family, and you, my amazing fans. I prayed for you all every night, as I’m now aware that I as in y’alls prayers as well.”

Going on, he shared his initial reaction to receiving fan mail, adding, “I smiled like a child on Christmas. But when I began to read them, my heart smiled. I laughed with some of you, reasoned with some of you, and even cried with some of you.”

“I thank you all for being so supportive, as I never imagined how much impact my words and life can have. With this knowledge, I vow to continue to be me! I will be the same Martian I was when I left, just better.”

Wayne also said that he plans to continue to respond to the fan mail he receives even after he is released from Rikers through WeezyThanxYou.com. 

The latter part of the letter was dedicated to his family and friends who also supported him throughout his prison stay. “That sh*t meant a lot, straight up! I would do the same, if not more for you,” he wrote.

As promised, dance-rap phenomenon MC Hammer, who gained popularity in the early 90s with hits like U Can’t Touch This and 2 Legit 2 Quit, released a new song and accompanying video titled Better Run Run this morning (November 1).

Hammer, who tweeted to fans last week that the diss would hit cyberspace over the Halloween weekend, released the song/video combo under the new moniker King Hammer.

According to the rapper, it is a direct response to Jay-Z’s rap on Kanye West’s So Appalled, which was released last September.

“And Hammer went broke so you know I’m more focused/ I lost 30 mil so I spent another 30/ ‘Cause unlike Hammer 30 million can’t hurt me,” rapped Jay-Z on So Appalled, alluding to the Oakland emcee’s well-publicized money troubles.

In response, Hammer pokes fun of the controversial Illuminati rumors surrounding the Brooklyn-based rap mogul, countering with, “The Devil said, Imma give you the world/ I’ll take it, plus give me a girl/ Mr. Devil, can you give me a sign/ He said, throw the Roc up, that’s one of mine.”

Not stopping there, Hammer continues on to say, “If I knock on your door that mean I’m knocking you out/ If I knock on your door I’ll bust you in ya mouth/ New rules, lemme show you the way/ If a rapper talk tough, then he gotta back up what he say.”

The video for Better Run Run also features a devilish-looking creature chasing after a man in a fitted Yankee’s cap. Later, it culminates in Hammer defeating the creature and forcing a baptism upon the man in the hat.

 Jay-Z and his representatives have yet to comment on the track or to Hammer’s taunts on Twitter

T.I. checked into a federal prison in Arkansas Monday morning (November 1). The southern rapper’s latest sentence stems from a September 1 arrest in West Hollywood, California. He was found in possession of ecstasy, in the presence of a convicted felon, and tested positive for opiates during a drug test. He will serve out 11 months for the crimes, which violated the terms of his probation.

“I can confirm he is in prison,” said T.I.’s attorney Steve Sadow to E! News. “He reported before the due time which I think was noon.”

TMZ.com talked to a spokesperson from the prison where the King Of The South will be spending the remainder of this year and half of the next. According to the celebrity gossip site, T.I. will not be given any special treatment, he will be processed just like the others and will have to pose for a prison photo, and be assigned a bunk. He will also have to use the facility’s community showers. Inmates at the prison are allowed to make phone calls but only up to 300 minutes per month.

T.I. tweeted his fans one last message before surrendering, writing, “Hey yall #teamTI will be holding me down on this front with updates until I return. Thx for your continued support. In a minute No Mercy.”

Actor/Comedian Bill Cosby kept it real at the 2010 Essence Festival. During his speech at the African-American Education summit in New Orleans on Saturday (July 3), he criticized Black parents and children for failing to take responsibility for themselves. When asked about how to cut down on teen pregnancies, he said: “We’ve got to lay it out for them. Let’s tell them about life. You’re 14 and having sex. OK. So, what kind of job do you have?”

Cosby shares that to see any progress, the African-American community must get involved. “We need to start getting into people’s business. We need to say, ‘Hey, I’m your cousin man, I’m your brother, I’m your sister and I don’t care if you don’t talk to me anymore but your teenage daughter ain’t got no business dressing like that!’ Tell them.”

He also addressed the urgency of changing the violence and drug problems within communities. “How long do we wait? When are you going to wake up? We can’t keep blaming people and expecting people to fix it. This has to stop.”

Furthermore, the actor shared a story with the audience of a woman questioning her son of his whereabouts, when he finally confessed he was hanging out on the corner, she looked at him and told him, “If you’re not in the picture, you can’t be framed.”

Rumors stated that Bill allegedly threw shots at Russell Simmons, saying: “[He's] as bright as a burnt out light bulb. Tell him I said it!”

I thought they settled there beef did I miss something? Young Buck continues his assault on 50 Cent and G-Unit and this time and went on a verbal tirade against his nemesis during a concert over the weekend in Detroit and also made point that his issues had nothing to do with Eminem.  Buck Marley told the crowd,

“I’m gone clear this shit up real quick because I see a lot of real ni*gas in here.  I don’t f*ck with that nigga 50 Cent… For real, f*ck that ni*ga.  [But] I gotta lotta love for Eminem though, that’s my ni%ga.  Eminem don’t even agree with the bullsh#t that 50 Cent doing with me.  Don’t worry about Buck, I’m good with or without some b%tch ass ni%ga named 50 motherf*cking Cent.  I promise you that.”

Adding further insult, Buck also spoke on his old crew not being able to come to the D without paying a hefty tax.

“I’m in Detroit, I’m in Eminem’s hometown…A lot of these ni*gas can’t come to Detroit, this is a no fly zone.”

September 8 2007 I overheard that 50 Cent was going to be in the City he was in a serious battle with our own Kanye West. I got myself together and told my best friend I was going to met 50 to give him a copy of my book Doing His Time. She laughed at me and said I wouldn’t get close enough to speak with him but I told her, watch me. I have always been a woman with a plan and vision; once I say I will do it-it’s gets done sooner or later. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a hustler!!  I speak on it, claim it and act on it. I’m a doer and a thinker. Day dreaming in my book is for the birds what’s a dream without a action?

I remember way back in the day when I started writing I told my ex-boyfriend’s best-friend, I was going to get one of my scripts produced and have Eminem play the lead role. He said “wow you got big dreams” that was at least seven years ago. When he sees me now he still laughs and say your almost there Nicey lol.

Meeting 50 that day was a great experience he was very sweet and funny, I was so nervous I couldn’t even speak. He basically did all the talking for me, he probably thought I was a dense airhead I swear lol. My hands where sweaty and I was so nervous I was shaking.  I’ve only been speechless twice in my entire life; I’ve always tried to be ready for whatever–but I wasn’t that day. Yeah I showed my friends that I say what I mean–but I was very unhappy with myself and disappointed. First impressions are everything and sometimes they can blow your chances because there lasting. I don’t know what Fifty’s impression of me was nor at this point dread on it. I have had a great career so far and I’m still growing I’m just happy to have met him for myself.

I learned a valuable lesson and I use it as a stepping stone and learning experience in life. The whole ordeal has gotten me prepared for bigger and better things in my life. 50 is a very respectable man and not the ass hole people make him out to be, at least not to the ladies lol. I took what I felt was unacceptable and got myself ready for anything. I took a page out of  Kimora’s book Fabulosity.  In her novel she states how you always have to be prepared for anything at anytime because life is so unpredictable. I’ve grown so much as a business woman just by listening and observing my competitors. Running a business in a ever so changing industry is hard and sometimes can be overwhelming.  I don’t operate like others, everybody wants to keep up with the now but I feel what works for somebody else might not work for me. I’ve learn the best way to brand yourself is to out-think the others, fluck what everybody else is doing and create your own path, your own movement. 50 said he was looking to do something different so he invested into things outside of music. We all know he made a killing with his vitamin water deal, so that shows me to keep pushing the envelope and not worry about what everybody else is doing.

People can say a lot about 50 cent but they can’t call him dumb or broke lol! The man is a smart businessman that I’ve learned a lot from. The first Law in my book would be, surround yourself in the right circles with the right people. I’m pretty sure 50 would say the same in his book, his latest novel The 50th Law breaks down his mind and thought process. So I was watching Fabolous new video “When the money goes” I’m such a Fab fan and love all his music and the video was dope. My problem here is, why do men love golddigger’s so much?? They make all these song’s about how they will trick all this money on them. Then turn around and call women bitches and ho’s. I don’t get it, the song talks about giving a woman the world and when the going gets tuff she bails out. I couldn’t help but notice the girl was a LSH, very pretty however; she didn’t have her own grind. When the going got tuff she didn’t ride because she didn’t know how. Why do men choose these type of well kept women on there arm?

Nothing is guaranteed in life, you can be on today and off tomorrow, in my opinion you should want a shorty with common sense. A go getter, a woman who is strong when needed and soft when needed. When your back is pushed up against the wall, wouldn’t you men want a woman who will step up and get the house in order until you can  take over once again?  I don’t understand why men complain about bishes ain’t shyt but continue to wife up these type of women. Then when the going gets ruff and she bails-now you have a chip on your shoulder. Men need to really think before they leap. A woman who is a material girl does not make a good girlfriend or wife. Material things are always temporary and can be gone at anytime. So what do you think will happen when you cant spoil her any longer??

I mean yeah she looks good, got a fat azz and the cooch is the bomb but if that’s all you want in a woman/wife then be prepared for the ride. A real man understand that choosing a mate solely on that will get you burned. But again this world is so screwed up and people want what they want but if you have a foundation built off money, sex and looks when it’s gone will she still be there????
