    Sean Paul talks Beyonce

Dancehall singer Sean Paul recently dug up a past rumor centered on Jay-Z having a beef toward him over his early 2000′s working relationship with now-wife Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and explained why he kept quiet up until now.

According to Sean, the beef-fueled gossip started when he and Bey shot separate scenes for their 2003 “Baby Boy” collaboration and also did not perform together for a Video Music Awards set.

Though Sean Paul appeared in the track’s video, which was directed by Jake Nava, he and the pop queen were filmed separately. “The whole direction of the video was sold to me as, ‘You’re in a dream world,’ ” Sean Paul said when he appeared on “RapFix Live” on September 12. “It was not a big deal to me, but it really blew up into crazy stuff.” When SP wasn’t onstage with Beyoncé for her 2003 MTV VMA performance, many speculated that B’s now-hubby Jay-Z had blocked the Jamaica-born dancehall star from getting his shine on. But on “RapFix Live,” Sean Paul denied those rumors. “That’s a rumor that started. I’ve known Jay-Z from before I knew her,” he said, recalling a time that he sat in Hov’s former Roc-A-Fella offices getting lessons on radio politics from the iconic MC. (MTV)

Sean also admitted he kept hush on addressing the rumor so he could cash-in on the free press.

They say there is no such thing as bad publicity, so rather than address the rumor, Sean Paul just let it linger. “The general public blew it up in certain things. I just remained quiet about it for years because it was doing its work. There was just a lot of controversy,” he said. “She’s an amazing artist, the song was at #1 for like nine weeks, so that was a very special time for me and for dancehall.” (MTV)

Back in 2005, the reggae singer also admitted his confusion to not performing alongside Bey.

“I was sitting in the crowd and I was like, ‘damn what’s that all about?’ Paris Hilton and her sister were sitting behind me like, ‘why ain’t you up there?’ I said, ‘I don’t know.’ I was embarrassed and I was also upset. It did blow out of proportion as to all the rumors about Jay and the jealousy and all that. I don’t know the reason for me not being on that stage while she was doing that song.” Don’t expect to hear a Jay-Z and Sean Paul collaboration any time soon, but with Paul’s no-beef attitude, you never know. “I don’t keep beef, dude. Anyone who wants to work with me, that’s fine.” (And Pop)

Last year, Paul’s camp denied rumors which suggested he may have been romantically linked to the female star.
Beyonce, breathe a sigh of relief — rapper Sean Paul isn’t writing tell-all book about you. “These reports are completely false,” a rep for the hit-making reggae singer told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

According to the rumor mill, Paul has been in talks to pen a biography about his life from middle-class Jamaica to superstardom in the United States. “Sean is not working on a book and has never had anything more than a working relationship with Beyonce ,” the rep added. (Radar Online)
