Despite a brief hiatus from music this year, Beyonce landed a top 10 spot on Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women list. Joining the 29-year-old singer are CEOs, cultural icons and other musicians including Lady Gaga, who placed at #7 overall and #1 on Forbes’ lifestyle list.

Beyonce earned a reported $87 million last year in more business ventures than just music. The R&B superstar is also an actress and a clothing designer for her own label, House of Dereon. Her contracts with L’Oreal makeup and the fragrance company Coty, with whom she partnered to debut her own fragrance, Heat, last year, increased the singer’s annual revenue.

Rounding out Forbes top 10 are First Lady Michelle Obama, who landed the coveted #1 spot, Oprah, Angela Merkel,Lady Gaga, Hillary Clinton, and Ellen DeGeneres.

In addition to being named one of Forbes Most Powerful Women, Beyonce made surprise appearance on The Today Show with Kathy Lee and Hoda Kotb earlier this week in support of her mother Tina Knowles’ new clothing line, sold at Walmart stores nationwide.

Since the beginning of her career, Beyonce has enjoyed success with 7 films, 16 Grammys and 118 million albums sold worldwide. She has also received countless MTV Music Awards over the years.

I love the fact that Beyonce and Jay are always together. It’s not just some made up thing for show, I can see the love in her eyes for Daddy Long stroke. Jay and Beyonce went to visit his mom home in Orange County and Beyonce came out to dance with the neighbors. How can you not love this girl so down to earth.

Ne-Yo and Sean Garrett both reported to the studio to work with Beyonce on her forthcoming LP and say that fans should expect big things from the new project.  According toNe-Yo, the superstar singer is focused and “knows exactly what she wants to do.”

“She’s going to give you directions [like] ‘Here’s where I’m going, so here’s where I need to be,” said the Champagne Life singer. “And, you know, I’m the person that follows directions well. [And she’ll be like], ‘So this is the sound, this is the vibe; make it happen.’ And I write and she likes it or she doesn’t. And in this case she did, and there you have it.”

Garrett has already labeled Bey’s upcoming work as being on “a whole other level.”  Having already collaborated with the songstress for Video Phone and Upgrade You, he linked up with her again to create “a lot of up-tempo records.”

“She’s in such a good place right now in life that she is interested in making party music, definitely,” he said toEW.com.

Beyonce has also enlisted help from The-Dream and according to one of the Def Jam exec’s frequent collaborators, fans could get to hear a single from Beyonce in as little as three weeks.

“Listening to [the] new B record [that] Dream wrote,” said producer Los Da Mystro on Twitter. “F*cking insane! Wow! She about to kill the game again! Had to listen again!  Y’all [see] in 3 weeks. That’s what they sayin’ now…But this is the music business.  Could [be sooner or later].”

Jay-Z and Beyonce are making history now that they’ve been added to the Guinness Book Of World Records.

The Carters have been added to the 2010 edition of the famed book for being the “highest earning power couple” after earning $122 million collectively till June 2009.

They’ll be joined in the Guinness Book by Lady Gaga who’s been named the “Most Searched-For Female.”

Beyonce has reached a settlement with a California man, who claimed he was inconvenienced by one of her video shoots.

The superstar and her crew were on set in a Hollywood Hills neighborhood earlier this year to shoot a music video for Why Don’t You Love Me, and according to a lawsuit filed by Philip Markowitz, aside from being loud and disruptive, the production trespassed onto his driveway.

In the legal documents, he said that the filming lasted from the early morning until 11 pm and kept him from accessing his home. He sought more than $25,000 from the singer, a liability company, and a production coordinator but recently settled out of court. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge then dismissed the suit after finding that both sides were pleased.

Talking with TMZ about the case, Markowitz, said, “I’m happy with the settlement, but this lawsuit shouldn’t have happened in the first place. They set up on my property without asking and [the settlement] should send a notice to other production companies that they need to respect the rights of property owners.”

His attorney, Gary Kurtz, spoke with the Associated Press, and added, “No one got rich, no one got poor. It was a modest but appropriate payment that was similar to what would have been paid pursuant to a reasonable agreement.”

In a statement forwarded by Mark Young on behalf of the label, it was confirmed that the singer is still represented by her father and not the Hip-Hop mogul who runs Roc Nation. The pace appears to be picking up with Beyonce’s latest project. Currently on hiatus from performing, the 28 year old is set to hit the studio tonight with Ne-Yo –according to the man himself.

Many will remember the pair’s last collaboration, 2006’s ‘Irreplaceable’ and the countless headlines it generated, Indeed Ne-Yo’s very public dispute of Beyonce ’s claim to have “written” the song, remains a talking point among many. Evidently, any ill-feeling appears to have been left in the past.

Thus far details surrounding the superstar’s new album have remained closely guarded. Although, Beyonce, herself, announced that the hotly anticipated follow-up to her ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ LP is due to hit stores before the year’s end…

Beyonce has been accused of copying clothing designs for her new ‘Dereon’ 2010 Fall collection from another fashion label. The singer, who has faced several allegations of theft regarding her music in the past few years, reportedly duplicated a pair of studded leggings designed by E-Label that she bought in London earlier this year. Beyonce, in an interview withUK’s Daily Mail, talked about her future plans with starting a family with her husband, Jay-Z, and how challenging it is for her to actually find the time to have a child. The couple has always been very private on their relationship, but this time the former Destiny’s Child singer opens up about how being a business woman can get in the way of being a wife and, eventually, a mother.

Beyonce stated that, “For me, balance is always really hard to find. I love so many different things, and to have the discipline to turn certain things away and focus on one thing at a time so that I can give it 100 percent is really hard.”

“Probably the biggest challenge in my life is time — making sure I have time to be a wife, to be a singer, to be a songwriter, to be an actor and still have time for my clothing line and now for my perfume. I am like any other woman who has a child, who has a husband, who has a job. I think it’s the hardest thing about being a woman because we have so many responsibilities.”

Beyonce, who finished her world tour at the beginning of this year, is currently promoting her new fragrance, Heat.
