Alicia Keys is bringing Jay-Z and Sade to the seventh annual Black Ball charity concert. The “Doesn’t Mean Anything” singer has announced that all three of them are all set to perform at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on September 30 during the fundraising event organized by her Keep a Child Alive (KCA) organization.

“Sade? Jay-Z? Both icons and both major influences of mine,” the pregnant R& B singer said in a statement. “I am overwhelmed by their generosity in helping us continue the tradition of making the Black Ball the best fundraiser in NYC.” She further promised, “There are more surprises coming up! Stay tuned!”

Last year’s Black Ball was also held in New York. Co-hosted by Alicia, Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi and supermodel Iman, it drew 1,000 guests and raised more than $2 million. Youssou N’Dour, John Mayer and Coldplay’s Chris Martin were some of the performers, while Halle Berry, Mary J. Blige, Nick Cannon and Usher are among the celebrities who came to support the cause.

Co-founded by 29-year-old Alicia, KCA provides financial support to orphan care and clinical centers in countries, such as Rwanda and Uganda, and helps families struggling with HIV/AIDS throughout India and Africa. ??While almost every other act is struggling to maintain a profitable tour a few have managed to stay out of the red. Among the list of tours that have made the most money in the first half of 2010, only two hip-hop acts made the cut: Black Eyed Peas and Jay-Z.

Pollstar.com released a list of the Top 100 North American Tours of 2010 to date and BEPlanded at the number six spot. Their The E.N.D. World Tourhas grossed $29.5 million thus far and has sold over 464,201 tickets at 35 shows.

Jay-Z appeared at number 12 on the chart having earned $22.5 million from his BP3 tour. The trek has sold 294,564 tickets at 21 shows to date.

Bon Jovi claimed the top spot, grossing $52.8 million during the top half of the year.  Taylor Swift came in at number three with $34.2 million, Alicia Keys popped up at the number 27 with $10.5 million, Maxwell and Jill Scott raked up $10.5 million to take the number 31 spot and Mariah Carey grossed $9.1 million and landed at number 36.

Both Jay and BEP released their albums last year and both debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart following their respective releases. Jay’s Blueprint 3 has sold 1.86 million copies to date and BEP’s The E.N.D. is well on its way to selling 3 million copies.

Jay-Z has finally put an end to those pesky rumors that suggest he is a devil worshipper.  He already addressed the reports during a few interviews at the beginning of the year but with his feature on Rick Ross’ trackFree Mason, he goes a little further.

“N*ggas couldn’t do nothing with me, they put the devil on me,” raps Jay according to MTV News. “I would have preferred n*ggas squeeze the metal on me/ Rumors of Lucifer, I don’t know who to trust/ The whole world wants my demise, turn the music up.”

“If y’all n*ggas fear me, just say y’all fear me,” he continues. “F*ck all these fairy tales/ Go to hell, this is God engineering/ I said I was amazing/ Not that I’m a Mason/ I’m on my third six, but the devil I’m not.”

You can find a way to prove just about anything you want to believe so maybe this won’t silence all of his detractors, but it may cause some to quiet down a little.

The Inkredibles-produced song, which also features singerJohn Legend, will appear on Rick Ross’ forthcoming LP,Teflon Don. The project hits stores on July 20th and features collaborations with T.I., Jadakiss, Erykah Badu, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, Gucci Mane, Trey Songz, Diddy, Drake,Chrisette Michele, and others.

Jay-Z is facing a lawsuit by Air Platinum Holding after he allegedly racked up a $250,000 bill with the private jet company and didn’t pay the full amount.

According to celebrity gossip website, TMZ, Jay-Z used up 55 hours of airtime with the company, but only paid for 37 hours. The legal documents show that after the celebrity discount, one hour of flight time cost approximately $4,500, so the total for remaining 18 hours he hasn’t paid for comes up to $81,000.

In the lawsuit, the company also claims that the New York rapper owes $8,500 for 17 hours of domestic catering, $3,000 for catering on four international flights and $8.500 in international fees. Add to that the $12,285 worth of taxes he failed to pay and the $24,200 cost of a luxury trip the music mogul took to England, and the bill comes to $137,485.00.

As of yet, no one from Jay’s camp has responded to the lawsuit.

In other news, Jay-Z recently settled a lawsuit with baseball player David Ortiz. Jay filed the suit against Ortiz earlier this year for trademark infringement after realizing the Boston Red Sox slugger had opened at nightclub in the Dominican Republic and named it Forty-Forty. Ortiz sent a lawyer to a court hearing for the civil case and said that he was willing to change the name of his venue and take down a website he was using to promote the club.

Jay-Z finally made it! He managed to shock the crowd and have a surprise concert, after the one planned for last week was cancelled due to the news leaking. Hov decided to cancel the previous one because of security issues related to the enormous number of people who would have gone to the free concert once the news was known. Jay’s concerns with overcrowding derived from the chaos created by over 10,000 fans at rap sensation Drake’s free concert. The Young Money MC had to cancel his concert as well, originally scheduled for June 15th, due to security-related issues.

Last night though (June 21), Jay-Z was not the only one to surprise his fans. Eminem was also on the roof of the building that hosts the Late Show with David Letterman. Both entertained few selected fans, who had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of attending Jay and Shady’s concert for free. The fans actually won the tickets on a contest on Twitter and Facebook, while few of them were picked from the excited crowd standing outside of the building.

Together, Jay and Eminem performed Renegade, while Jayrocked the building with Empire State Of Mind, On To The Next One and Can’t Knock The Hustle on his own. At the end, the two rappers, along with Diddy, who also attended the concert, left the building together in front of a very surprised crowd.

In an interview for Rolling Stones, forty-year-old rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z talks about aging in the Hip-Hop industry. He says that rap has always been a “young game” and it is becoming harder for aging rappers to achieve the same success as the young minds of Hip-Hop.

Furthermore, Hov also talks about LL Cool J, but the way and the context he mentions him sound more of a diss than a compliment: “We’ve seen people like LL Cool J have longevity and we respect the heritage of what he’s done but it’s not like right now he’s competing on the same level as Lil Wayne so for me to still be able to compete at that level at my age, that’s rarefied air, it’s never been done.”

It is universally acknowledged that to-keep-it-real in Hip-Hop is pivotal, and this seems to be Jay-Z’s key of success. He asserts that: “I think the problem with people, as they start to mature, they say, ‘Rap is a young man’s game,’ and they keep trying to make young songs. But you don’t know the slang — it changes every day. You can visit the topic, but these young kids live it every day, and you’re just visiting. So you’re trying to be something you’re not, and the audience doesn’t buy into that. And people wonder why [they're not selling]. ‘I made a great Southern bounce song!’ You’re fromNew York, and you’re 70! Why are you bouncing?”

Whether Hov is dissing or not, truth is he is at the top of the game. His Blueprint 3 is selling incredibly well, his performances are always a success and he still hits sold-outs at his concerts.

It seems the man who made his name rhyming about hustling and hos in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects is actually more comfortable around an unlikely new crowd: indie rockers. “I love the energy coming out indie rock right now,” he says, name-checking Grizzly Bear. “It has this rebellion thing that hip-hop is missing now, the thing that made hip-hop hip-hop.”

While Jay is notoriously private about his life with wife Beyoncé, Binelli gets the rapper to let down his guard, and Jay reveals his superstar better half vetoed a piece of artwork he’d bought for their 8,000-square-foot Tribeca penthouse. The black-and-white Laurie Simmons photograph in question depicted “a noirishly lit pistol with a pair of women’s legs emerging from the handle… Beyoncé sent it back and had it replaced with a similar Simmons piece, only depicting a perfume bottle instead of a gun.” Binelli also encourages Jay to open up about his biggest challenges as president of Def Jam (the most frustrating meeting? “Honestly? The internet is buzzing that KIM is signed to Jay-Z new label, if so I hope this works out for her. I know Foxy is somewhere hotter than fish grease but it’s a good look on Kim part. According to recent reports, rapper Lil Kim has signed a management deal with Jay-Z’scompany Roc Nation. The femcee has for the most part been quiet since her release from prison in 2006, aside from a stint on ABC’sDancing With The Stars in 2009. But she has shown signs of making a comeback in the recent years after her song P*ssy Purrwas released onto the web and followed by her appearance onHey Ho, a track off of Ludacris’ Battle Of The Sexes album.

Blogger Perez Hilton also reported that Jay-Z will executive produce Kim’s forthcoming album. An official announcement and additional information is expected shortly.

Kim went to prison in July 2005 after she was found guilty of lying to a Federal grand jury in relation to a 2001 shooting that involved her friends. Charged with three counts of conspiracy and one count of perjury she was sentenced to 366 days in prison and was released on July 3, 2006.

Kim’s last album, The Naked Truth, was released five years ago. Though critically applauded the album was her least successful to date. It debuted at number six on Billboard’s 200 chart and has sold less than 500,000 to date.
