Teehee I know Nas is somewhere lhao Karma comes back on you one way or another; not the Bossy Diva we once were are we. According to Hits Daily Double, Kelis‘ new album Flesh Tone sold a dismal 7,833 copies its first week on the charts, coming in at #46. The album was preceded by the single “Acapella”, which hit number one on the Billboard Dance Chart.

This is extremely bad news for Kelis seeing as this is her first album on her new label and because of the fact that she actually did promotion for the single. But maybe this is karma for clearing out Nas’ bank account.

Though the marriage of New Yorkrapper Nas and singer Kelis ended earlier this year, the battle between the two over money is still ongoing. According to celebrity gossip website, TMZ, Nas admitted in recently filed legal documents that he owes his ex-wife a little less than $300,000 in back spousal support.  He is also apparently behind in the mortgage payments of the house she is currently living in.

The Illmatic rapper’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, filed a payment plan with the court that says Nas will make up for the mortgage by forking over $17,500 upfront and then doubling up on the $7,800 payments until he is caught up.

Despite all of the reports that the two had become enemies during the divorce, the singer, whose new album titled Flesh Tone will be released on July 6th, insists that she and Nasstill have their good moments.

“It wasn’t really a bitter divorce,” said Kelis during an interview with Perez Hilton.  “Sometimes [we’re on friendly terms.] [laughs] No, [we didn’t reconcile], not reconcile in the sense like we’re back together. But I mean, you know, we had about eight years.”

She also confirmed rumors that she is currently seeing someone. “Yeah, I am [seeing someone]. [It’s been going on] for a little while now. It’s going great.”

Acoording to TMZ:

TMZ obtained legal docs in which Nas concedes he owes Kelis a skosh less than $300,000 in spousal support. But it seems the most pressing problem is the mortgage for the home Kelis is living in — Nas is behind $52,989.22.

So Nas’ lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, filed a payment plan with the court, in which the rapper agrees to pay $17,500 up front, and then pretty much double the $7,800 mortgage payment each month to catch up.

It’s pretty amazing — Kelis’ lawyer, disso queen Laura Wasser, has claimed Nas raked in $244,826 a month.

According to the docs, the plan is to sell the home stat.

Kelis realizes that with her very public divorce from New Yorkrapper Nas, her critics have been given a platform on which to gossip, but the singer insists that she doesn’t pay any attention to anything the media has to say about her.

“You know what’s funny, I don’t have a really good understanding [of it],” said Kelis to TheBoomBox.com about the public’s interest in her divorce. “I know that people are trying to be in my business, but they’re really not. I don’t read anything that people say about me, and the people around me are my real friends.”

The Milkshake singer insists that she isn’t the least bit affected by the negativity sent her way and she added that she is completely unaware of what people say because she doesn’t search up articles on herself.

“Most of it, even the positive stuff is negative, because no one should be in your business like that,” she said. “So at the end of the day I really don’t even know what people are saying about me, so it doesn’t affect me at all actually. It serves no purpose, unless I’m looking at it — like why would I know? I’m not looking. I don’t look up myself on blogs.  I don’t even know what they’re saying.”

Kelis’ forthcoming fifth studio album, Flesh Tone, is scheduled to be released on July 6th in North America. The project features collaborations with producers David Guettaand Will.I.Am, amongst others. It was released in the UKand other parts around the globe in May.

Three new images are brought forward as a sneak peek to Kelis‘ “4th of July (Fireworks)” music video. The clip was shot in the desert outside Los Angeles and was co-directed by Kelis, Rankin and Nicole Ehrlich. It is going to be premiered June 16 on VEVO. The new song will be showcased live for the very first time on North American TV when she visits “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on June 18. On that day “Flesh Tone” hits the market across U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand on July 6, Kelis will celebrate it by appearing on “TODAY” show. Her additional television appearances include “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on July 13 and “Tavis Smiley” with air date still to be determined.

During a recent interview, singer Kelis revealed that she doesn’t really want her son to go into the entertainment business until he has exhausted all other options. But if he should choose the music world, she insists she would support him.

“I look at him now and there’s no way you can deny he’s musically inclined. I don’t think he can help it…is it my ideal choice? No!” said Kelis of the son she had with New York rapper Nas.

“I would much rather he was a marine biologist or an architect but if he’s naturally good at this I would be doing him a disservice to not help him. But I’m not going to be a stage mom, pushing him in front of the camera. It has to be not that he wants to be a pop star but, in a way, because he can’t do anything else,” explained the Milkshake singer, who also said that, that was the sole reason she became an artist.

“I’m not delusional, I mean, I don’t have delusions of grandeur in that I don’t think I’m the best artist ever…I had to do this because I couldn’t think of anything else,” she added.

In related news, Kelis will release her fifth studio album, Flesh Tone, on July 6 in the U.S. The LP, which features David Guetta, Benny Benassi, and Will.I.Am, was already released in the UK last week.

New York rapper Nas recently opened up about his son and how hard it is to visit him while in the middle of a very public divorce with his estranged wife, Kelis. The Queens-bred lyricist made headlines earlier this month after revealing that he didn’t have enough money to pay the court-mandated child and spousal support and needed the amount reduced, but it seems that funds may only be one facet of his problems.

“My son was born with ice grills, so when his mom feels in the mood she sends pictures,” said Nas. “If not, it’s hell. It’s hell trying to figure out, trying to get him — I’ll just leave it at that. It’s hell. A man shouldn’t go through that sh*t, but it’s another story I’ma tell at a different time.”

“Overall he’s super good and when I do get him there’s nothing better in the world,” he added. “When I get both my kids together it’s beautiful.”

In related news, Nas has linked up with Damian Marley for an album titled Distant Relatives, which will be released on May 18. The LP will revolve around Africa and its history, and the proceeds will go to a project in the continent focusing on building schools.

During the interview, Nas also hinted at a forthcoming solo album, saying: “I just started working it. I’m just gonna let nature take its course. I’m letting it out, man.

Hip Hop icon Nasir “Nas” Joneshas requested a reduction on child support payments, as he is unable to pay the amount primarily mandated by the courts. Recent reports show that Nashas been ordered by the court to pay over $87K in back child and spousal support. He claims that he cannot pay separated wife Kelis that amount along with the additional $10,000 a month in spousal support which is to stay current.

Although the judge estimated that Nas earns $152,031 monthly, the MC states that he makes “substantially less than that amount.” Mark Vincent Kaplan, his attorney, is asking the judge to reconsider the initial amount, TMZreports.

Furthermore, Kelis has reportedly requested that her request for a divorce be quickly processed. According to reports, the female raptress stated in a declaration that it would be best for both of their marital status be terminated as soon as possible. Since Kelis is afraid that the legal matters could take years to configure, she requests that the marriage is terminated immediately. She also stated that she doubts there will be any type of rekindle in their relationship, “I believe there is no possibility of reconciliation with Nas.”

Nas has agreed and wishes to move forward and continue to care for his family.  Allegations against him were dismissed after he paid nearly $50,000 in child support to Kelis. Her attorney sought the charges after Nas fell $200,000 behind on child and spousal support payments. He was ordered in December 2009 to pay more than $51,000 a month to Kelisand their son.

In a statement released on Wednesday (May 5), Nas says: “All I want to do is make music and raise my kids. Nothing else matters.”

While Nas is on his way to pick up a second job to help make his monthly payments; Kelis is making music. Kelis readies her new LP ‘Flesh Tone’ for a May 17th (UK),  her new record titled ‘4th of July’, has surfaced. What you think?
