Why can’t folks let Chris Brown be great? During a recent promotional spot for his upcoming album, ‘Libra Scale’, Ne-Yoshared his views regarding some of his contemporaries in the music industry. The singer/songwriter stated that he considers the latest material put forth by Usher to be sub-par compared to the ‘Confessions’ album and that Trey Songz has found his niche in game as “the sexy guy”. Additionally, Ne-Yo revealed that he is currently having personal issues with Chris Brown.

Singer/songwriter Ne-Yorecently revealed he is starting on a new album, his first since 2008′s Year Of The Gentlemen, and according to the R&B crooner it will be different from his usual sound.

Without revealing much information he told MTV News, “Just know I’m doing something a little different this time around. Just be expecting that were gonna bring back entertainment — that’s what were gonna do. Yes, I’ve decided to make it the lifetime of the gentlemen.”

He also talked about starting on the new project on his Twitter page, writing: “Very blessed to write on and be a part of other great projects, but nothing like working on my own album…Back in the US! Busy week this week and Friday I start recording the new album.”

Ne-Yo is also working on furthering his acting career, and proclaimed that he wanted to be the next Tom Hanks.

“I was quoted as once saying I want to be the black Tom Hanks,” he said. “And what I mean by that is Tom Hanks is the kind of guy that can do comedy, action, you name it.  So I want to be that guy. I want to do all different genres of movies and do them well.”

Ne-Yo will appear in the upcoming films, Red Tails, a story about the Tuskegee Airmen, alongside Cuba Gooding Jr., and Terrance Howard, and Battle: Los Angeles, an alien-invasion flick, which will reach theaters in 2011.

Don’t expect Ne-Yo to get in the middle of Chris Brown and Rihanna’s beatdown drama. According to Ne-Yo, Rihanna won’t be addressing the drama on any material he writes for her next album. He tells MTV,

“I’ve done some stuff for Rihanna’s [project]. I didn’t really want to go there too much, because I know that’s what everybody is expecting. I don’t think there isn’t a person alive that doesn’t know what happened and what it was. I don’t feel like it needs to be glorified. I don’t think that needs to be a song that’s sung or written. It’s sad that it took that happening to get the attention it deserves. Women get beat up all the time, and nobody says anything about it or chooses to do anything about it. But now that it happened to a celebrity, [it's], ‘Let’s talk about it on Oprah Winfrey.’ “

Since Chris and Ne-Yo are really good friends he doesn’t want to touch on the personal issues Rihanna has with him in her music because of their close friendship. He adds,

“Chris Brown is a friend of mine, and I don’t view him as a bad guy for what happened. It was an absolute mistake, and he has some lessons to learn and some maturing to do. But I’m not gonna bash him for that. I’m not gonna turn my back on a person I call my friend because he made a mistake. [So] I can’t write the Chris Brown bash song and then turn around and look myself in the mirror.”

I was holding a conversation about men of course-lol and it was brought up that men want a woman who listens. So I said well that works both ways you know, and my mind wondered, why do men make all these independent women anthems if that’s not what they want? Why do you say I love her because she has her own, yet if she lets you know she has her own it’s a problem? She being demanding and looking down on you? Why do men say they want a woman with her own money but if she mentions it or how much she makes were wrong?  Then it’s turned around to say that were looking down on black men, and were too strong headed.

I’m confused and maybe it’s just me, but all this talk about how black women have bad attitudes and they don’t know how to treat a brother is crazy. I mean on one hand you’re lifting us up and say yes, I respect that you have a degree, a career that you can take care of it all. But than on the other hand it’s like y’all some bishes that have stank attitudes, that are very ungrateful and we don’t know how to treat you.  I mean can you clue a bish in on what’s what? I mean if you say be independent then turn around and say be submissive? Are men saying they want it both ways?

You say there something about a woman who doesn’t need you right? So when she says it to you, why get mad? I just don’t understand it; do you men want a Miss Independent or little Queezy from the hood? I hear men saying women who work at burger king make better wives because they’re more down? But yet you turn around and say you want a woman who got her own things.

Should we not be proud of the things we’ve accomplished as a woman? But if we bring it up or gloat were being a bish. I hear all this hate towards black women I don’t understand it, you say you want a woman who can help you; but when you have a woman with her own things you say she controlling. Clue a bish in because I’m sure I’m not the only woman who feels this way.

Do you guys want a independent woman or Queezy from the hood, who is uneducated, smokes weed and isn’t going anywhere in life but to McDonalds or Burger King? (Side note there’s nothing wrong with these jobs just asking a question)

Also I could not get out of here with out bringing up the rapid amount of men wifeing strippers and ho’s. So tell me this would you rather marry a stripper than an educated woman?
