A woman was found dead in her southern Dallas home Sunday, two days after she called 911 to report that her husband was attacking her.
The cause of death for Deanna Cook, 32, was pending an autopsy, but police records state she died of “homicidal violence.”
Her ex-husband, Delvecchio Patrick, was booked into the Dallas County jail on a charge of murder early Monday. His bail was set at $500,000.
According to police records, Deanna Cook called 911 about 10:54 a.m. Friday. She could be heard screaming for her ex-husband to stop attacking her. “Delvecchio, why are you doing this?” Cook yelled, according to police records.
“Red, please stop, I didn’t do anything to you,” she said, referring to him by his nickname.
According to police, a 911 dispatcher alerted responding officers to the severity of the situation. But when officers arrived to the home in the 9300 block of Crimnson Court near Interstate 20 and Dowdy Ferry Road and got no answer at the door, they left.
Two days later, as Cook’s family grew concerned about her well-being, they went to the home and found her dead.
Delvecchio Patrick also has a history of alleged domestic violence against his wife, Dallas County court records show.

In the hours before she died, Deanna Cook — who used the Twitter name @DivaSexyDallas — tweeted that her ex-husband threatened to kill her.
“Wouldn’t be so bad if he ain’t tried 3 times before, But I’m Gods Child ain’t never scared,” she tweeted on August 17 — the same day she was murdered.
In another tweet dated April 9, Cook wrote “I just found out my Down Low X Husband Lovers name!! Wat a SOUR PUSS…”
